Vacancy for Rural Social Scheme (RSS) Supervisor

The aims of the Rural Social Scheme (RSS) is to provide income support for farmers and fisherpersons who are currently in receipt of specified social welfare payments, and to provide certain services of benefit to rural communities.
The role of RSS supervisor will involve:-
 The identification of work placements in community organisations
 Promotion and administration of the RSS scheme
 The supervision of participants, monitoring time and attendance
 Setting, managing and monitoring work schedules and attaining targets
Candidates should:
• Have previous management/supervisory experience
• Possess a good standard of education, a qualification in community/rural/social development or similar would be preferable
• Be able to demonstrate the ability to support individuals and community groups

Vacancy for Social Inclusion Community Activation Program – Enterprise Officer

The Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP) 2018 – 2022 aims to tackle poverty and social exclusion through local engagement and partnerships between disadvantaged individuals, community organisations and public sector agencies. The Enterprise Development Worker will be responsible for the delivery of a set of actions outlined in the Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP). Duration of appointment is December 2022 (end of SICAP Contract), with a six month probationary period.
The role of Enterprise Officer will involve:-
To work directly with unemployed people on a one to one basis who wish to start their own business, identify and organise training courses/workshops to facilitate the development of start your own business skills of the long-term unemployed, support individuals in their applications for the Back to Work Enterprise Allowance (BTWEA) and other activation supports as required.
Candidates should:
• Have a number of years’ experience in the enterprise/community development arena or in a related field.
• Excellent standard of education, a relevant third level qualification (e.g. community development or related field) is desirable but not essential.
• Clear understanding of Community Development Principles.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, relationship building, organisational, report writing, ICT, and time management skills.
• Capacity to effectively interact and take a leadership role with a broad range of stakeholders.
• Capacity to work well within a team, ability to adopt a flexible and responsive approach to working in a community context.
